How do you keep track of spare parts and stock in a bike shop?
In the Klar-ID stock you see every item with on-hand, reserved and available quantity as well as purchase and selling price.
In short: in the Klar-ID stock you see every item with on-hand, reserved and available quantity. Purchase and selling price come on top. You can create items one by one or import them via CSV or XLSX.
Many small parts, a lot to keep track of
Tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, chains, batteries: a bike shop has many items. If you do not know what is there, you order too much or too little. Or a customer waits because a part is missing.
On hand, Reserved, Available
For every item Klar-ID shows three numbers:
- On hand: how much is in stock.
- Reserved: how much is already set aside.
- Available: how much of it is still free.
In addition, every item has a status: «Available», «Low stock» or «Not available».
Organised by category
Items are organised by category: drivetrain, lighting, brakes, cockpit, e-bike, wheels, tyres, saddle/pedals, gears, inner tubes, workshop and accessories. You see how many items are in each category.
Search and filter
You search by item number, name, brand, EAN, manufacturer or supplier number. Then you filter by brand or status.
Import items without losing your stock
- Choose file: you import a CSV or XLSX file.
- Check preview: before applying, you see what will be created and what will be updated.
- Apply: existing items are updated by item number. On hand, reserved and selling price remain unchanged.
You can export the stock as a CSV file at any time.
Goods receipt and orders
You open deliveries via goods receipt, directly from the items & stock area. In the workshop order you take parts from stock or order them. How ordering works is explained in the article Ordering & purchasing. All details are on the stock management page.
Frequently asked questions
Does a CSV import overwrite my stock?
No. The import via CSV or XLSX updates existing items by item number but leaves on hand, reserved and selling price unchanged. Before importing, a preview shows you which items will be created and which will be updated. Only then do you apply the data. So you can extend item lists without losing your counted stock. More on the stock management page.
What does Reserved mean?
Reserved is the quantity of an item that is already set aside and should therefore no longer be sold or fitted freely. Klar-ID shows three numbers side by side for every item: on hand, reserved and available. Available is what is still free of the stock on hand. In addition there is a status per item: «Available», «Low stock» or «Not available». So before promising a customer anything, you see whether a part is really there.
Can I export my stock?
Yes. The stock can be downloaded as a CSV file at any time, for example for an analysis in a spreadsheet. Conversely, you import items via CSV or XLSX; a preview shows beforehand what will be created and what will be updated. Existing items are updated by item number without on hand, reserved and selling price being overwritten.
